Bleeding Heart pins. The small ones in the chairs are wired onto regular pin backs. The large one on the lounger is on a large pin bar. These were made with a mix of glass leaf beads, glass hearts in various colors and sizes, 4 mm glass beads and 4 mm Swarovski crystals. Each pin has at least one small glass butterfly bead on it.

Left: Native American Lady Wearing a Blanket Standing in the Wind. Right: close up of the stitches. The ones that you can see the thread on, looking like it's loomed, are what is called 'the other brick stitch'. You can see where I switched to normal brick stitch, as you cant see any of the threads between the beads. What I noticed is that done the regular way, the finished work is very sturdy and solid. The work beaded in the 'other brick stitch', comes out very limp and the thread is really visible between the rows. It has a 'beginner' look to it, in my eyes. I might use this again, but only when I work with light colored beads, never dark ones. Pin was graphed from an amulet bag pattern I found in a bead book. I added some 'vines', flowers and leaves, and put some dark green cats eye beads on the pin. When I can find the book that had the original graph, I'll put it here. [we're boxing things up to get the house ready to repaint, then we'll be moving]

I graphed this from a piece of fabric, showing ancient native dancer images. I put blue cats eye beads on the pin on either side of the dancer.
