Size Ladies Large approximately 40” bust

Materials
Aunt Lydia’s Denim Crochet Cotton, 400 yds per ball.
2 balls MC [I used Chambray]
1 ball CC [I used Rose]
  {if you make this in only one color, get 3 balls of the color you want to use}
J hook
Scissors
Safety pins or short lengths of thread to mark sides

Garment is worked from the ribbing up to the armholes, then the front and back sections up to the shoulders are worked and sewn together.

Pattern stitch: seed stitch [dc in sc of previous row, sc in dc of previous row, etc]. Ribbing: fluted stitch

Ribbing
R 1: ch 7, work sc in second ch from hook, sc in last 5 ch. Ch 1, turn.
R 2 - 127: working rest of ribbing rows in back loops, sc across 6 sc. At end of last row, sl st last row and first row together. Ch 1, do not turn

Body
R 1: Working along ends of rows on one side of ribbing, sc in first 6 rows, * 2 sc in next row, sc in next 11 rows *,  repeat across to end, sc in last 11 rows. Join, ch 1, turn. [136 sc]
R 2: Work seed stitch across row, join, ch 1, turn. If working 2 or more colors, have your pattern already worked out, and join and work the CC colors as you work across row.
Mark front of garment [R 1of body is front of garment], and mark sides [68 sts on front and back].
R 3 – 55: Work seed stitch. Tie off. [about 19”]
Move side markers up to last row worked, making sure there are still 68 sts between them.

Front
Keeping to color and pattern, ch 8 for first sleeve, join at first side mark {join with a hdc if the row below starts with a sc; join with a sc if the row below starts with a dc}, work in pattern across front, changing colors as needed, to other marker. For next sleeve, ch 9 if your next row starts with a sc. If your next row starts with a dc, ch 10. Start any rows that begin with dc with a hdc instead. This makes a 'bridge' for you to work in the round, and joins the back to front. The chains are the 'bridge'.
Work next row in pattern across chain and sts on front.
Work even for next 6 rows.  Mark center front.

Front Shoulder
Work pattern from sleeve edge towards center on 40 sts, work the next 2 neck edge sts together [41].
R2 – dec at neck edge, work across. [40]
R3 – work across, dec at neck edge. [39]
R4 – dec at neck edge, work across. [38]
R5 – work across, dec at neck edge. [37]
R6 – dec at neck edge, work across. [ 36]
R7 – 17  work even.  Tie off.

Skip center 3 sts, work other shoulder to match, reversing shaping.

Back
Attach yarn to other side of starting sleeve chain, work in pattern across back and other sleeve chain.
R2 – 17  Work even. Tie off.

Sew shoulders seams.

Work ribbing on sleeves same as bottom band, only ch 5 for starting chain, and work on 4 sc.
Work decorative stitch or sc around neck opening.
